Verity Companion How to progress fast

Legitimate grind paths that maximise Ink per hour — no executables, no third-party scripts, just clean runs.

Why speed matters

Verity Companion rewards consistent play. The Ink economy scales with how fast you clear rooms, so a 25-minute run earns noticeably more per hour than a 45-minute run. This guide documents the verified speed paths the wiki team uses when re-testing the Tier List hub.

Step 1 — start with the right companion

Open the Tier List hub and pick either Empath (Seren) or Analyst (Tess). Both personalities unlock puzzle hints that shave minutes off Room 3. The getting started guide explains how to pick one before you launch the run.

Step 2 — redeem your codes first

Open the Twitter bird icon in the lobby and redeem every active code from the Codes hub. Codes grant Ink and the Lantern skin, which improves the visibility of every puzzle hint. Redeem before you start the timer; codes claimed mid-run do not credit until the next save.

Step 3 — skip the optional dialogues

Some monologues can be skipped without lowering the trust variable. The skip list is documented in the how to use the AI companion guide. In short: skip the office scene, do not skip Room 3, and only skip Room 5 if you have already unlocked the ending on that save.

Step 4 — chain rooms 4 and 5

Rooms 4 and 5 share the same jumpscare timer. If you survive Room 4 inside 90 seconds, the Room 5 timer is automatically extended. The how to survive jumpscares guide documents the timer maths.

Step 5 — use the side-quest reset

The repeatable side-quest described in the how to complete sidequests guide can be cleared twice per run. The first clear is part of the main route; the second clear is a free Ink bonus that resets every 25 minutes.

Step 6 — save and replay

After the ending, return to the lobby and immediately launch a fresh run. The how to unlock endings guide documents the dialogue choices that lock you out of the replay loop, so make sure you finish your chosen ending before you start grinding.

Expected Ink per hour

A clean Seren or Tess run earns 800 to 1,200 Ink per cycle. Chaining the side-quest reset pushes the average to 1,400 Ink per hour. Pair the grind with the Scripts hub dialogue map to avoid spending Ink on cosmetic-only options.

What the wiki does not recommend

  • Do not run third-party executables. Roblox’s Terms of Use prohibit them, and they put your account at risk. The infinite coins reference explains why every ‘free Ink’ script is unsafe.
  • Do not abuse private servers for double-dipping. The studio wipes private-server Ink every maintenance window.
  • Do not share your account with friends. Roblox bans accounts for credential sharing.

Build around the grind

The grind loop only works if you pick the right companion for the route. The Tier List hub explains which personalities earn Ink fastest. Pair the loop with the Codes hub so you can claim the newest rewards as soon as they drop.

After the grind

When you have enough Ink to unlock every wardrobe cosmetic, switch to the how to find secret rooms guide and start a Vex or Loki run. Secret rooms do not grant extra Ink, but they unlock narrative pieces that change the ending credits.

Common time sinks

Even disciplined grinders leak minutes to the same handful of habits. Skip them and your per-hour Ink climbs by roughly 30%. The biggest drains our wiki team sees when re-testing the loop are documented below so you can route around them on the next cycle.

  • Re-reading the lobby memo every run. The companion restates the same three hints on the lobby desk after every reset. Read it once on your first cycle, then tap skip on every later run. Skipping does not lower the trust variable because the memo is not a Room 1 dialogue branch.
  • Waiting for the Lantern skin animation. The Lantern overlay opens with a two-second sweep the first time it unlocks, but subsequent runs replay it for another two seconds. Exit the animation early by tapping anywhere on the desk — the sweep is purely cosmetic and skips cleanly.
  • Hunting the optional dialogue fragments. The dialogue tree in Room 4 and Room 5 contains two optional exchanges that do not affect Ink, only credits. Pick the shortest response on the speed route and save the longer reads for a lore-focused run.
  • Letting the jumpscare timer idle. The timer pauses while a dialogue prompt is open, but new players forget to close the prompt until the next jumpscare fires. Close the prompt immediately after the line finishes, then re-open it later if you need a fresh pause buffer. The how to survive jumpscares guide documents the pause maths in full.
  • Resetting the save between runs. A reset costs roughly four minutes of cooldown plus a fresh ‘trust’ variable that has to be rebuilt from zero. Only reset when you are actually changing companion personality; otherwise keep the save loaded so the Lantern fragment and DARKROOM save slot persist.

Route around all five and your typical 45-minute run drops to 30 minutes, which is the cleanest speed path the wiki has measured against the current Roblox patch.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How much Ink can I earn per hour?

800 to 1,200 Ink per cycle; up to 1,400 Ink per hour when you chain the side-quest reset. The Codes hub and Tier List hub cover the inputs.

Is there a legitimate way to double Ink?

Yes — chain the side-quest reset described in the how to complete sidequests guide. Avoid 'infinite Ink' scripts; they are always unsafe.

Does the Ink rate change after a patch?

Yes. The studio adjusts Ink rewards after every major update. The Updates hub logs every patch we re-tested the grind against.

Can I grind while AFK?

No. The jumpscare timer in Room 4 forces you to interact every 90 seconds. AFK runs reset the trust variable and lose Ink.
