Verity Companion How to find every secret room
Skeptic triggers, optional objects, and the dialogue branches that open every hidden door in the run.
What secret rooms unlock
Verity Companion ships with five hidden rooms across the main campaign. Each one grants a fragment of the companion AI’s backstory and a cosmetic Ink reward. The how to find secret rooms guide documents every trigger so you can clear them on a single run.
Pick the right companion
Only two personalities reliably open secret rooms:
- Skeptic (Vex) — probes every optional object; unlocks four of the five rooms.
- Trickster (Loki) — alternative pick; unlocks the bonus room but raises the jumpscare tax.
The Tier List hub explains why Vex is the safer pick for new players.
Room 1 — the wardrobe mirror
The wardrobe in the lobby hides a mirror. Tap it, then accept the optional dialogue prompt. Vex surfaces a follow-up prompt that unlocks the mirror’s reflection. Pick ‘follow the reflection’ to enter the hidden room. The room grants a Lantern fragment that lowers the jumpscare threshold in Room 4.
Room 2 — the office desk drawer
In Room 1, look at the office desk. The drawer contains a tape recorder. Vex prompts you to listen. Accept the prompt to unlock the second hidden room, which grants a Trust boost and a code fragment.
Room 3 — the lantern clue
The lantern clue in Room 3 is gated by the lantern fragment from Room 1. Vex highlights the lantern automatically. Pick the ‘lantern’ dialogue to open the third hidden room. The room grants a dialogue fragment used by the how to unlock endings pacifist route.
Room 4 — the alcove
Room 4 contains an alcove behind the painting. Tap the painting to open the alcove. Vex surfaces a follow-up dialogue. Accept the prompt to unlock the fourth hidden room. The room contains a jumpscare that deals no damage because the alcove is gated behind the trust threshold. The how to survive jumpscares guide explains the threshold.
Room 5 — the office chair
The final hidden room is behind the office chair in Room 5. Vex probes the chair if you have unlocked at least three previous hidden rooms. Accept the prompt to enter the bonus room. The bonus room is the only path to the Trickster ending, so the how to unlock endings guide references it.
Why the bonus room is risky
The Trickster ending requires you to clear the bonus room while the jumpscare timer is at its lowest (60 seconds). The how to survive jumpscares guide times every jumpscare in the bonus room. Pair the room with the Tier List hub so you know which companion can handle the tax.
What the secret rooms change
Each hidden room unlocks a fragment used in the credits. The five fragments together unlock the ‘lore master’ cosmetic overlay, which is the rarest Ink cosmetic in the game. The Codes hub lists the codes that pair with the overlay.
Save management
The hidden rooms persist across saves once unlocked. The how to progress fast guide documents the speed loop that combines the hidden rooms with the side-quest reset for the fastest Ink per hour.
Cross-check with the AI map
The Scripts hub documents the dialogue decision map. Use it to study why Vex surfaces the hidden-room prompts and why other companions ignore them.
Secret rooms list
Every secret room currently documented in the wiki is listed below in the order they appear during a clean Vex run. Use this table as a checklist while you play — each row covers the trigger, the room’s Ink reward, and the jumpscare tax it carries so you can plan your companion swap before starting the run.
| # | Room | Location | Companion trigger | Reward | Jumpscare tax |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Wardrobe mirror | Lobby, behind the wardrobe door | Vex follow-up prompt after the mirror tap | Lantern fragment + 100 Ink | None |
| 2 | Office desk drawer | Room 1, top desk drawer | Vex prompt to listen to the tape recorder | Trust boost + code fragment | +15 seconds |
| 3 | Lantern clue | Room 3, behind the lantern prop | Vex surfaces the lantern dialogue | Pacifist dialogue fragment + 150 Ink | None |
| 4 | Painting alcove | Room 4, behind the painting | Vex follow-up prompt after the alcove opens | Lore entry + 200 Ink | +30 seconds |
| 5 | Office chair vault | Room 5, behind the rolling chair | Vex probe after three rooms are unlocked | ’Lore master’ overlay + 300 Ink | +60 seconds (Trickster route) |
All five rooms persist across saves once unlocked, so you can run the speed loop from the how to progress fast guide and still collect the rewards on your next playthrough. The combined Ink total — 750 Ink plus the lantern fragment and trust boost — matches the numbers our wiki team measured against the current Roblox patch. If the studio adds a sixth room, the Updates hub is the first place the new entry will appear.
